Pomegranate, apple mint, feta cheese, herbs, white balsamic, pepper pepper pepper pepper. #pomegranatefetacheesesalad
A Greek myth connected to pomegranates: while Persephone, daughter of Demeter the earth goddess, was held captive by Hades, god of the underworld, she ate six pomegranate seeds. There was apparently a rule that anyone, human or god, who ate food of the underworld had to live there.
Having eaten six pomegranate seeds, Persephone ended up spending six months of every year in the underworld, and during those six months apart from her daughter, Demeter fell into despair and neglected the earth - and that, the myth goes, is how winter came to be, a season when nothing can grow.
