Notes

20250906 #breakfastdiary 1500, 27°C/drizzle For people who've made a habit of skipping breakfast, breakfast can feel like an unfamiliar, burdensome ritual. If so, maybe breakfast can be eased into in stages, the way a body waking from a long winter's sleep gradually starts moving again. Stage one calls for liquids or fluid foods. To a digestive system that's been resting all night, a gently flowing liquid feels more familiar than a sudden solid meal. A smoothie where fruits and vegetables come together in harmony will wake the body naturally, like morning sunlight. Oatmeal made with warm milk brings the scenery of a peaceful countryside morning, while the sweet-and-tart tang of Greek yogurt carries the Mediterranean's energy into our body. A bowl of porridge will wrap the stomach in warmth, like a mother's touch. Even just 200ml of hot water with 1t of miso and a few small pieces of chopped tofu can make a morning feel abundant. (Breakfast-me — I drink a breakfast every single day) Frozen fruit with chia seeds, hemp seeds, and Greek yogurt added for texture, fullness, and nutrition all at once — about 277kcal per serving, Berry Avocado Smoothie Bowl
