20201123, According to a scholar named Hediger, animals too practice something like distancing, which can be sorted into flight distance, critical distance, personal distance, and social distance. The first two — flight and critical distance — come into play between individuals of different species, while personal and social distance can be observed between members of the same species. (Kim Hyun-jung, Science Times)
The social distancing we've been hard-pressed to maintain has just been raised to Level 2. Even among the same species, it seems like we need to live for a while as if we should keep flight distance or critical distance, if we ever want to get back to a more humane, social distance later on. That feels especially true when I think of the small business owners whose livelihoods are directly threatened by the tightened restrictions.
Lay down leafy greens, top with tofu, corn, cherry tomatoes, boiled egg, and green olives, then dress with yogurt (instead of a calorie-bomb ranch) for a #cobbsalad
*The Cobb salad reportedly got its start in 1937 at the Brown Derby restaurant in Hollywood, LA, when owner-chef Robert Howard Cobb chopped up leftover ingredients during a busy dinner rush to make himself something to eat.
