Drizzle olive oil on the bread and toast the sourdough on both sides. Neatly slice half an avocado, top with salmon and dill, squeeze on plenty of lemon juice, add a soft-boiled egg, and finish with pepper pepper pepper pepper.
Because infectious disease spreads on an exponential curve, it seems like turning an outbreak around comes down to lots of small individual actions adding up — and how many people actually follow through makes a huge difference. That's exactly why it's hard to feel how much a single action of mine can really contribute, and I have to keep reminding myself of it. Even after weeks of watching high daily case numbers, I think the way to get through this Omicron wave with the least damage is to not lose heart, to keep holding on, and for each of us to do our part. Beyond the KDCA, I think it's also time for the government to quickly roll out generous disaster relief and other support.
(Nobody, "Things to Mentally Prepare for Ahead of the Omicron Wave")
There was news that because of Omicron, Japan's case count could top 10,000 and soon reach 30,000, and that if each of those people quarantines for 10 days, it could paralyze society. Going forward our own government will likely follow with measures like shortening the current 10-day quarantine to 5 days, but above all, what matters most is staying mentally steady and calm.
