Drop buckwheat noodles into boiling water, adding cold water as you boil them, then drain and rinse in cold water. Plate with green onion and gim (seaweed).

Cashless buses are gradually spreading. Once the current pilot program wraps up this coming June, it could expand to every bus the Seoul city government runs. Following the token (introduced in 1977, discontinued in 1999) and the paper bus-fare booklet (introduced in 1954, discontinued in 2004) — both pushed out by the bus card that first appeared in 1996 — 'paying cash' on the bus, too, is fated to fade into history.

I recently read a report on China's MZ generation (millennials and Gen Z). Apparently they've never seen physical cash — everything from payments and transfers to even New Year's money envelopes goes through mobile pay.
A generation is emerging that experiences money purely as numbers on a screen.
