Giving up your own preference to pursue variety. At first glance, this looks like an 'irrational decision.' But it's human nature. For example, if you're buying just one yogurt, most people would pick plain or strawberry.
But what if you had to buy a week's worth of yogurt? Then you'd also buy flavors you don't normally eat, like blueberry. When there are more options available, we tend to make irrational decisions.

If you want a rational decision, it's best to have about two options.
