After morning yoga, something packed with protein to ease the guilt of eating carbs — this is #SoyBraisedTempeh
Heat olive oil in a pan, slice the tempeh, and sear it in the pan. Once the tempeh is cooked, add 1 soy sauce, 1 mirin, 1 sugar, and 50ml water, and braise it down. Chop perilla leaves and lay them on a plate, then place the tempeh on top. Sesame oil or perilla oil — which would go better?
1. Heat olive oil in a pan and sear the tempeh, sliced lengthwise, on both sides.
2. Mix 1T soy sauce, 1T mirin, and 1T sugar with 50ml water, pour over the tempeh from step 1, and braise.
3. Chop perilla leaves and lay them on a plate, place the seared tempeh on top, and drizzle with a little perilla oil.
