(Asparagine — first discovered in asparagus, hence the name — is apparently ten times more concentrated here than in bean sprouts, which is great for curing hangovers and supporting liver function.) ‘Earthship’ is a word coined from ‘Earth’ and ‘relationship.’ It comes from the travel school Roadschola, made to remind us that we live on Earth, and above all, within the reach of the sun's energy. It feels urgent right now to recover the awareness that we live alongside the moon, the sea, rivers, trees, flowers, wind, butterflies, birds, whales, and ants. Restoring that sense of connectedness, and diversifying what we value — that's the sensibility we're trying to cultivate through ‘Earthship.’ It's a shame that this used to come naturally and now has to be studied and earned, but we're coining and sharing this new word anyway, meaning to plant our feet in the soil, swim through the sea, and look closely at the many faces of our neighbors sharing this planet with us. Kim Hyun-a, Earthship – The Face of Life I learned a new word today. #earthship
