At its core, what defines a Rolex among mechanical watches is durability. Rolex genuinely holds an unrivaled place in aviation and diver's watches, and for someone like Che, who had to trek through rough terrain in all weather while running a guerrilla campaign, a watch's durability would have mattered more than almost anything else. Operations depended on a watch always showing the correct time, so if that meant carrying around an item that was practically a darling of the capitalist system of the day, so be it.
(Kim Hyun-sung, 'Che Guevara Wore a Rolex: A Hypocrite Parrot Is Worse Than a Hypocrite,' @alookso)
People say a revolutionary and a luxury watch don't exactly go together, but once you consider the situation Che was in, it makes a lot of sense. For different reasons entirely, I switched my own watch face to GMT.
Heat olive oil in a pan and blanch zucchini and asparagus. (You can skip this step, but searing certain ingredients like this really brings out their natural flavor.)
Pat the salmon dry and season it with pepper, pepper, salt, salt.
Line a pan with parchment paper and add the zucchini, asparagus, salmon, along with sliced tomato, garlic, potato, lemon, and other vegetables. Drizzle with olive oil, salt, pepper, and a splash of white wine.
Fold the parchment paper over the edges and bake at 200°C for 25 minutes. #salmonpapillote
