20250402 #breakfastdiary 1360, 4°C/partly cloudy, 20 min/exercise (M) A New York Long Island style approx. 700kcal #tunapoke based on Sam Sifton's NYT recipe. Thinking back on it after eating, adding about 1t lemon juice probably would've balanced it out.

Ingredients

300g tuna, 1/4 red onion, a little chives, 1T macadamia nuts, (dressing) 3T soy sauce, 1T sesame oil, 1t mirin, 1t sriracha sauce (substitute for chili garlic sauce) *makes 2-3 servings 👉 steps 1. Cut the tuna into roughly 2cm thick cubes. Thinly slice the red onion and chives. 2. Mix 3T soy sauce, 1T sesame oil, 1t mirin, and 1t sriracha sauce (as a chili garlic sauce substitute) to make the dressing. 3. In a mixing bowl, combine the tuna, red onion, and chives, pour over the dressing, and mix evenly. 4. Sprinkle sesame seeds and mix once more. If you have time, refrigerate for 1-2 hours to let it marinate. Before eating, crush macadamia nuts on top. Inspired by @nycooking #breakfast #recipe #miraclemorning #zucchini #tuna - The sound Jeju haenyeo (women divers) make when they surface from a dive to catch their breath is called "sumbisori." It sounds almost like whistling, but it's actually the natural sound of them expelling a lungful of carbon dioxide all at once and drawing in oxygen.
