Apparently thanks to Hainan's long-standing reputation for small chickens with excellent texture.
Today it's Made-in-Singapore, about 800kcal per serving, Hainanese Chicken Rice
Ingredients
- Hainanese chicken rice meal kit (PRIMA TASTE)
- 1/2 cucumber
๐The Hainanese chicken rice meal kit makes 7 servings. Only using 1/2 today.
Steps
1. Add the premix (meal kit) to 1.2 liters of water; once it boils, turn off the heat and add the chicken breast. Remove the chicken breast after 20 minutes.
2. In a rice cooker, add 1.5 cups rice, the fragrance paste (meal kit), 300ml of the chicken stock from step 1, and 10ml oil, and stir well. Cook for 5 minutes on the cook setting.
3. Open the rice cooker and stir well. Cook for another 20 minutes on the warm setting.
4. Warm the sesame soy sauce pouch (meal kit) in boiling water.
5. Slice the chicken breast from step 1 into bite-sized pieces.
6. Slice the garnish cucumber diagonally.
7. Plate the chicken rice from step 2, the chicken and cucumber from steps 5-6, and pour the sesame soy sauce over the chicken.
