20201030, According to brain science, systems of competition and pressure trigger the human 'fight-or-flight' response. This neurological reaction is similar to the 'brain hijack' phenomenon* that occurs when we're suddenly faced with a physical threat, like encountering a dangerous wild animal.
*A phenomenon in which the amygdala seizes control of the brain, so that under crisis the brain, hijacked by the amygdala, becomes incapable of even the smaller things it could normally do. (Jang Jae-woong & Sanghyo Yijae, Understanding Agile Philosophy (1)) #publy
Suppose there's a boss who habitually treats employees with a domineering attitude and verbal abuse. In most cases, employees freeze up and stammer the moment they stand before him, unable to say even what they'd normally say. And so the domineering attitude and verbal abuse repeat all over again. #Machiavelli probably never knew about #brainhijack, but #ThePrince does have a passage arguing that a ruler need not be kind or moral — he must be cold and ruthless. So then, what should you do when you come face to face with a dangerous wild animal? Haha...
I had one #tomato left in the fridge, so I rinsed rice, peeled it, placed the tomato on top, cooked it 10 minutes, turned off the heat and let it steam for 5 minutes, lightly mashed the tomato, transferred it to a bowl, and finished with flavorful olive oil and a little #parmigiano to adjust the seasoning #TomatoSotbap #breakfast #potrice #morningmeal
