20211114, #breakfastdiary 268, 2°C/foggy, 25min/exercise Romaine, tomato, and Sogeumjib Deli bacon with a vinaigrette dressing made with lemon juice — #RomaineTomatoSalad In a novel by Kim Cho-yeop, the people of the underground world called Sum-geurimja (숨그림자, roughly 'breath-shadow') read meaning through breath. Particles representing things like 'mom,' 'sibling,' 'doll,' 'water,' 'walk,' 'sorry,' 'thank you' float in the air, and they communicate by breathing them in and exhaling them. I thought this was a far more efficient and advanced way of communicating than making sound through vocal organs. There was an article saying that Koreans' 'nunchi' is 'a subtle art of gauging other people's thoughts and feelings in order to build trust, harmony, and connection.' Maybe, just like in that world of breath-shadows, particles explaining the situation float invisibly in everyday air, and Koreans have a unique ability (nunchi) to read them? Of course, not every Korean has great nunchi. *Nunchi is a Korean word which, translated directly, means 'eye measure' Described as 'subtle art of gauging other people's thoughts and feelings in order to build trust, harmony and connection' Author Euny Hong explained it in new book, The Power of Nunchi – The Korean Secret To Happiness And Success (Source: Daily Mail)
