Greek Yogurt with Tangerines

20211126 #breakfastdiary 278, -3°C/clear Greek yogurt gone deliciously thick and creamy overnight, with tangerines now in season (Though if it gets too thick, the texture isn't great either.) Mandarin, tangerine, clementine, satsuma — all similar but slightly different relatives of the humble gyul (Korean tangerine). Gyul is said to be closest to the satsuma variety, which originated in Wenzhou, China — the original mandarin. It's said that once this made its way to Japan, it became known as the Unshu Mikan. It brings back vivid memories of my grandmother, who spent much of her life under Japanese colonial rule, calling them 'mikan, mikan.'
