The prettiest spinach in the world, almonds, cranberries, and red onion, doused in dressing and tossed well — spinach salad.
At the end of 2020, Pantone released a red-toned color named 'Period.' The color's introduction image showed a uterus shape against a deep red background — apparently part of a 'menstrual awareness campaign' encouraging everyone, regardless of gender, to talk about periods openly and without hesitation.
Depictions surrounding menstruation have long been overwhelmingly negative, at times even the butt of jokes and mockery — a holdover from an era when humanity simply didn't understand how our own bodies work.
Ingredients
- 2-3 spinach roots
- 1/4 red onion (soak in water before using)
- 1T almonds
- 1T cranberries
- Dressing (3T olive oil, 1T vinegar, 1t whole grain mustard)
Steps
1. Wash 2-3 spinach roots thoroughly, remove just the leaves, and arrange on a plate.
2. Top with chopped almonds, red onion, and cranberries, then pour over the vinaigrette dressing.
