Supporting abortion rights = 'Megal' (feminist slur) — probably a fair reflection of how many men actually see it. The government has proposed a revision to the criminal code that keeps the crime of abortion on the books but allows termination without conditions within 14 weeks of pregnancy. But a person who learns late that they're pregnant — because of sexual assault, disability, being a minor — or who can't afford the cost of a termination, or who has a serious health problem, still can't legally terminate after 24 weeks, and can be punished with up to a year in prison or a fine of up to 2 million won. Given that this touches on the question of life itself, and that this is the first revision to the law in 66 years, is this really as far as it should go?
