20210805, #breakfastdiary 171, 26°C/occasionally cloudy, 20min/exercise(yoga) The marinated tomatoes I made a few days ago (minced onion, 3 parts olive oil, 3 parts lemon juice, 2 parts balsamic, 2 parts oligosaccharide syrup, parsley, pepper, salt to taste) have hit peak flavor. Paired with basil I picked fresh at the office. "There was no such thing as an identical day. Even repeating the same routine, life always produced some different detail." Last weekend night, I read that line and thought of the film #Paterson, which I'd watched that afternoon. *Paterson (directed by #JimJarmusch—does that ring a bell now?) is a film about the daily life of a man named Paterson who lives in Paterson: waking up to the same cereal, packing the same lunch, driving the same route 23 bus to work, and stopping by the same bar with his dog after his shift, Monday to the next Monday. But even within that same repeating routine, there was 'always some different detail'—and above all, there was poetry. And then, turning a few more pages, I found the full lyrics to 'Being Alive,' the song Adam Driver (Paterson's lead actor) sings. A strange connection, on an odd sort of night. #Paterson
