Gratins made with root vegetables like potato or sweet potato are usually layered flat, stacked horizontally in the dish. Today I stood the mandoline-sliced pieces up vertically so the cut edges show, and somehow it looks a bit fancier. 675kcal #sweetpotatogratin
Ingredients
2 sweet potatoes, 100ml milk, 1 egg, salt and pepper, a little basil powder, 1T mozzarella cheese, 1T shredded cheese
Steps
1. Wash 2 sweet potatoes and slice them with a mandoline.
2. Line an oven dish with parchment paper and arrange the sliced sweet potatoes standing up so the cut surfaces show.
3. Mix 100ml milk and 1 egg thoroughly, sprinkle with a little salt, pepper, and basil powder, then pour over the sweet potatoes from step 2.
4. Top with a little mozzarella and shredded cheese and bake at 180°C for 1 hour.
