And it's not just references to God himself — even the recipients of God's grace are described almost entirely in masculine terms. I found myself wondering why words that might seem perfectly natural to some people turned out that way. I've even thought about writing something grounded in these questions. Ever since I started thinking this way, I've been looking into related books and broadening my thinking.
