20240704 #breakfastdiary 1107, 22°C/mostly cloudy Mixed turmeric powder into the potatoes for a nice yellow color, but once mixed in with the other ingredients, it was a bit much. In the end, the potatoes stole the whole show — #cucumberpotatosalad Dice the potatoes, mix in a bit of turmeric for a nice color, and air-fry at 180°C for 10 minutes. Crispy outside, slightly underdone inside. Slice 1/2 cucumber, salt it, and after 10 minutes squeeze out the moisture and prep. Prep boiled eggs, green olives, and prosciutto. Mix 5 of olive oil, 1 of wine vinegar, 1 of lemon juice, 1/2 of whole grain mustard, and 1 of honey thoroughly, then add a bit of dill to make the dressing. In a bowl, combine the potato, cucumber, prosciutto, green olives, and dressing, and mix thoroughly. Plate it, finish with pepper, and dig in heartily. - Stigma was a term in ancient Greek society for a kind of "brand" burned onto the bodies of slaves, prisoners, criminals — those deemed ethically or morally unacceptable. In Latin, the word stigma itself refers to the branding mark made by pressing a red-hot iron onto livestock to signify ownership. (Yoo Sun-hee) In English, turmeric — I sometimes use it in breakfast. Especially when boiling potatoes, adding a bit gives it a more appetizing yellow color, but the fatal downside is that turmeric powder stains on the sink or dishes are stubborn, almost like a brand, and don't wash off easily. Still, it just takes a lot of effort to remove — it's not permanently stuck forever.
