I'd had fried tofu (yubu) taking up a corner of my fridge for a while, and while figuring out what to do with it, I made a fried tofu dough pizza. Yubu is called "fried tofu" in English, literally fried tofu, so naturally it's fairly high in calories. That's just how it goes — the world's delicious things tend to be calorie-heavy.
About 600kcal fried tofu skin dough tomato pizza
Ingredients
12 sheets fried tofu (yubu), 1 egg (for the egg wash), 5 cherry tomatoes, 1 cup okra, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, olive oil, a little crown daisy
Steps
1. Spread the fried tofu sheets flat in a tray and pour boiling water over them to rinse off the seasoning.
2. Squeeze out the moisture from the tofu, brush with egg wash, layer 4 sheets together into a square dough shape, and sear both sides in a hot pan.
3. Place the tofu dough from step 2 on a baking pan, top with basil pesto, cherry tomatoes, okra, and mozzarella cheese, and bake in a 200°C oven for 15 minutes. (Bake until the mozzarella cheese melts.)
4. Plate it up and top with olive oil and crown daisy.
