Though even truffle oil loses its aroma once it's been sitting around too long. Big Hit Entertainment announced its new brand identity (HYBE), mission, and headquarters today. They made sure to spell out their new mission clearly: 'We believe in music,' with the guiding idea being 'to move people through music, spread positive influence, and create change in people's lives.' It was an announcement that gave plenty to think about on several fronts (you could swap out 'music' — the word they kept repeating — for almost anything else and the logic would still hold). What stood out most was the presentation by Min Hee-jin, formerly an art director at SM and now HYBE's Chief Brand Officer — the same person who, as soon as Girls' Generation's name was decided, reportedly built an image map presenting exactly what kind of 'girls' the group's members should be, and was later promoted all the way up to executive director on the strength of it. Of course, credit is also due to the intense thinking that must have gone on behind that presentation, and to what it produced.
