20231211, #breakfastdiary 919, 9°C/cloudy, 21 min/workout (Y) It's already been a few years since #streettoast made it into the New York Times as a signature Korean street food. In the same vein (though this news is a bit old too), Korean-style hot dogs have become quite popular abroad as well. The secret to that popularity is said to lie in the sheer variety of ingredients and sauces used. Actually, American hot dogs vary a lot by region too, each with its own signature ingredients and sauces. And of course, within any one region, personal taste produces all kinds of combinations. Seattle-style hot dogs oddly include cream cheese, and even after searching around and asking ChatGPT, I never did find out why. Sauté onion thoroughly with salt and pepper (usually called caramelized onion) and set aside. Split the sausage lengthwise and air-fry for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, split the hot dog bun in half and toast in a buttered pan. (Oh no, burnt it again) Spread the bun generously with cream cheese, then top with the sausage, the well-sautéed onion, sauerkraut, and a good squeeze of sriracha~ Better than it looks — a proper Seattle-style hot dog
