For people used to skipping breakfast, the whole idea of it can feel unfamiliar and like a burden. So maybe, just like a body slowly stirring after a long winter's sleep, breakfast can be eased into in stages too. In stage one of starting breakfast, you can begin with liquids or something soft. Our digestive system, having rested all night, feels more at home with something gently liquid than with sudden solid food. A smoothie where fruit and vegetables come together in harmony can wake up the body like the first rays of morning sunlight.
