Insalata Caprese

20240518 #breakfastdiary 1060, 19°C/mostly sunny Tomato mozzarella salad is also called caprese, which comes from insalata caprese (insalata - salad, caprese - Capri-style), meaning a salad in the style of Italy's Capri region. Since nothing goes into it besides tomato, mozzarella, basil, and olive oil, this is a breakfast where the quality of the raw ingredients really matters. I've never had it in Italy myself, but apparently Korean tomatoes tend to be blander than Italian ones, so it's said to be good to season with salt or similar. Today I seasoned it with balsamic. Plate the tomato and mozzarella cheese, season with olive oil and balsamic. Finish with basil~
